Literature faculty member - and Dante scholar - Gillian Adler helped actor Jim Carrey model his recently-published memoir, Memories and Misinformation on elements of Dante's Inferno.
"From American history to the legend of King Arthur," WBUR reports, "Carrey believes all stories have been embellished. By creating a surreal world with elements of reality within it, writers can paint a “truer portrait,” Vachon says.
"Their friend Gillian Adler, a professor of medieval literature at Sarah Lawrence College, pointed out that they aren’t the first writers heading down this path."
